WebWander is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data and keep as much as possible on your device.
Browsing history: Read only when you click the Wander button, to personalize suggestions. History is processed entirely on your device and never sent to our servers.
Local storage: We store your last suggested site, favorites, downvoted sites, and a random voter ID in your browser. This data stays on your device.
What we send: When you upvote, downvote, or suggest a website, we send only the vote type, target site ID, suggestion details (URL, name, category), and an anonymous voter ID. We do not collect or store your browsing history or any data that identifies you.
The website fetches the list of community sites and suggestions from Supabase to display the interactive galaxy. No personal data is collected when you browse the site. If you submit a site suggestion, we receive the URL, name, category, and description you provide. Submissions are filtered for inappropriate content before storage.
We use Supabase to store votes and site suggestions. Supabase's privacy policy applies to data stored on their servers: supabase.com/privacy
